Ocean Life Activities

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

We hope you're all enjoying the summer sun and this Ocean Life theme as much as we are! We'll update this post as the weeks go on so you guys can join in on all the fun we find. Please feel free to share your photos and ideas here too.

Check out this purchase we scored for $5 on Temu. But if you're feeling sketched by purchasing from China they're

also available on Amazon. Check out the link to make a purchase. (As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.) Our girls have played with this toy everyday since we bought it. For our 2YO we just have her identify which fish she caught (if she knows it) and what color it is. With our 4YO we ask her to identify the fish she caught, what color it is, and what number is on the back.

One day we took our girls holoholo and ended up at Windward Mall's indoor playground. I never noticed all the sea animals scattered around the area until this visit. The girls were so excited naming all the sea animals they see. It's so fulfilling to watch it "click," and that is the main reason I continue to school them from home. If you're looking for a fun and FREE activity for your keiki, go check it out!

I don't know about your kids but my girls LOVE to paint. We found these wooden sea animals at Target for $5. It comes with 3 wooden pieces, paint, and 2 paint brushes. They have a set for every theme and they sell out fast! I like to have these displayed as decoration around our learning area.

As promised, here is the Father's Day craft we made. It was so fun for the girls and super easy for me to throw together since I had all these materials at home.

Here's the list:

  • Wooden Canvas

  • Popsicle Stick

  • Rope

  • Paint

  • Permanent Marker

We keep things simple so everyone can join the fun. You can switch out the materials for other things you may have like a twig instead of a popsicle stick. You can also choose whatever type of canvas you want; maybe cardboard or a tee-shirt. If you have a Cricut you can definitely make this craft 100x more beautiful. Do it your way but make sure to do it fun!
