This is Bananas

Updated: Jul 9, 2023

Orange you excited it's summer? What better way to enjoy this Summer Theme, than to pear it with a Fruit Lesson Plan. Squeeze the day with these fun to the core activities. We're berry excited to share our Toddlerschool journey and hope that you're joining in on all the fruit-tastic fun.

Here's a little about the products below:

Your pdf download includes 2 weeks of lessons, 3 flashcard pages, and a 8 worksheets. The worksheets are in the order associated with the lesson plan. Most of the recommended activities are hands-on and include a small description. The fruits are batched into categories; for example, the first two days will be focusing on berries. Go according to you toddler's needs. My 4yo knew most of the fruits we covered so we could breeze through this lesson but my 2yo needed more time with identifying new fruits.

There are 2 days (out of 10) dedicated to the fruit of the Spirit. If you aren't familiar with the fruit of the Spirit, it is 9 attributes of a person who lives according to the Holy Spirit. Even if you are not a follower of Christ, you can still do the activities in the lesson plan and tweak it to best fit your family values. These 9 attributes are important for everyone to learn.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

If you need more information on a particular activity please chat with us. There should be a blue, "Let's Chat" button on your screen. You can also drop a comment below or reach out to us on Social Media (IG or FB). Check out our photos to see all the mango-nificent fun we've had with fruits.

ABC's

I've been trying to teach my 4yo her alphabets. I want to make it fun and keep it in theme. The possibilities are endless when you have a tub of colorful chalk. We went over each letter, it's sound, and what words start with each letter.

Fruits & Colors

During this theme my 2yo has been learning a lot of new fruits, which can be overwhelming for a toddler. To keep her engaged we peared it with colors. This keeps her confidence level high which in turn keeps her excited to learn new things.

Hungry Caterpillar Project.

After ready the book together we drew, colored, and cut out the the caterpillar and all the food it ate. While we reread the book we put this project together. I think I had more fun than the girls.

STEM is FUN!

The girls stayed busy with this STEM project for a few hours. They built houses, boats, and fairies, just to name a few. Being able to snack while doing this activity was a bonus. You can do this activity with anything, not just grapes. Since we're learning about fruits, try this activity with your toddler using different kinds of fruits.

Ten Apples Up On Top.

The girls added a photo of themselves at the bottom of their page and were told to stamp 10 apples above their photo. That isn't how it turned out, but it was still a beautiful piece of art that was hung on the fridge.

RANT: When I was in elementary I would get a lower grade for coloring outside of the lines. I always felt that it was unfair. Now as a homeschool mom, I allow my girls to express their creativity when we're doing art. If I want them to color in the lines or follow instructions then I communicate that to them before we start and do the activity one-on-one with each of them. Communication is key when teaching little ones.

Remember to head on over to our Pinterest page for more cherry-fic ideas to incorporate in your Toddlerschool, including snack time. Please share with us how your Toddlerschool journey is going by commenting below or sending us an email. We're so grape-ful to have you here and can't wait to see how you've implemented these activities in your home. However you go through the lesson plan, make sure you have fun with it!
