Toddlerschool Template

Hi,

Welcome to Toddlerschool. If you want to know more about me and Toddlerschool, you can read more about that here.

You're probably here because you heard about our free template for our Toddlerschool. I've spent hours researching different teaching methods, themes, lessons, and activities. After 2 years of trial and error I found a specific teaching method and certain activities that work best for my toddlerschool; now I'm excited to share them with you. This free template can be used for any teaching style. You can use it as a starting point for your homeschooling journey and tweak it to work best for you and your family. Included in the download is an explanation worksheet, but I'll quickly explain it here as well.

  • Month and Week: Fill in the month and week. I number my weeks 1-4 you could also just put the dates.

  • Theme and Sub theme: The main theme would be the main focus of the month while the sub theme would be the main focus of the week.

  • Focus of the week: Each week you will dedicate some activities focusing on 1 or more categories listed.

  • Circle Time: Use this time to have group discussions or ask questions related to the lesson. Circle Time encourages the development of social skills by inviting the children to listen, talk, reflect, share and take turn.

  • Language: Included in language are literacy, writing, and story time. Here we focus on developing the children's literacy skills. Important literacy skills are letter identification, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary.

  • Core Subjects: Included in the core subjects are math, science, and social studies.

    • Math: (pre math) helps children develop a strong foundation with numbers and counting.

    • Science: (hands-on) experiments are the best way to encourage our children to explore the world around them.

    • Social studies: designated to teaching children about their communities and/or cultures.

  • Arts and crafts: Art is a wonderful way for children to express themselves. It also provides opportunities for them to learn colors, shapes, and patterns while developing fine motor skills.

  • Misc: Here we add anything that we use to enhance learning that are not included in the above curriculum. Examples of this would be movies, field trips, or show and tell.

That was the easiest way I could clearly explain how to use out Toddlerschool template but if you have any questions please feel free to either put them in the comment section below or send us an email. I really hope this tool is helpful for you.

*I think it's important to note that you don't have to fill in every single box to create a complete lesson plan.

Happy Schooling,

JoReece
